Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds, but $15.9 billion in losses just might.

The U.S. Postal Service announced on Wednesday that it will no longer deliver Pottery Barn catalogs mail on Saturdays starting the week of August 5, 2013. Such drastic measures will save the financially troubled agency about $2 billion a year.

With the advent of something called "the Internet" and "electronic mail," the postal service has suffered tens of billions of dollars in losses in recent years.
