Vance Joy, who's getting ready to join Taylor Swift on her upcoming 1989 world tour, wails a haunting tune with "Georgia," about a woman he's loved and lost.

But the accompanying video shows a battalion of soldiers in a deadly battle during some unspecified war. At one point, two soldiers are ambushed, and one of them is seriously wounded.

When the brothers-in-arms realize he won't make it, the scene takes a surprising turn—and we realize there's a whole lot of backstory we missed.
