This year TV pioneer, producer and director, Ryan Murphy, will be honored for highlighting queer stories in projects like The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, The Normal Heart, and his latest hit, Pose.

Civil rights hero, author and activist James Baldwin will also be honored, as well as the ACLU, and social activists Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, who have been advocating for gun reform since their son, Trayvon Martin, was shot and killed five years ago.
