Everyone knows the Miami club scene, much like the weather, is blazin’. On any night of the week there’s something going on in the Clubland capital. And the avant dance duo Afrobeta, made up of Cuci Amador and Tony Smurphio, are no strangers to the party. The Miami-natives represent their city hard, from their sound to their style, and their loyal following makes that evident. Beyond all that, though, they know how to put on a damn good show.

In short, they’re funky as fu—ahem—I’m sure you know where I’m going with that.

NewNowNext sat down with the dynamic duo and discussed Gloria Estefan, their album Under The Streets, and musically collaborating with animals (all while Smurphio fiercely werked the bird-in-hair look).
