Video: Meet Gay Rap Duo The Freaky Boiz

The Freaky Boiz became an internet sensation earlier this year with their personal brand of explicitly gay lyrics spewed over popular rap songs. Their self-posted YouTube videos, which have garnered over 160,000 views, soon gained controversy. Some said they were perpetuating stereotypes while others praised their boundary pushing music.

Now, with live performances at MOMA’s PS1, Secrets Nightclub, and other venues under their belt, the Freaky Boiz are working on new music, ignoring the haters, and trying to be what they believe they’re destined to be: “the first mainstream gay rap act.”

We talked with Pierre “PrinceCharming” Phipps and Terrance “TTgotit” Wilson when they were recently in New York. Check out the interview above. Here's the duo performing 'Girlz be Gagging:'
