Video: A Sweaty Nightlife Tour of Tel Aviv

Will Pulos gets a late, late night guided tour by the very cool local and Time Out writer Alon Rom. (Pssst. Alon knows EVERYBODY in Tel Aviv!)

After our attractive look at shopping and fashion in Tel Aviv, let's focus is on the city's nightlife. With its great weather and easy-going vibe, it's no surprise that Tel Aviv has a lot of fun nightlife options. Clubs aren't as segregated as in other cities, but straight clubs tend to dominate the southern Florentine area. The outdoor summer party Teder (corner of Allenby and Har Sinai,) is a radio station/bar, and is definitely a fun option if you’re looking for more of a mixed crowd.

In fact, the only exclusively gay club in Tel Aviv is Evita (31 Yavneh St.) which hosts weekly parties every night like Tuesday drag night.

Most of the gay nightlife in the city centers on regular ongoing parties. The parties don’t really get going till between 2 and 3 most nights, and in general the attire is pretty casual with fitted T’s and even some sandals. Zizi (7 Karlibach) hosts a number of fun gay parties like PAG, and Lima Lima (42 Lillenblum St.) hosts an urban music party every Monday called The Notorious G.A.Y. Breakfast Club/Milk (6 Rothschild Blvd.) puts on a great party on Thursday nights called Cheesecake where you can find electronic music and more of an alternative crowd.

Nightlife in Tel Aviv can mean sexy hipster parties, drinks at a sidewalk cafe, or clubbing into the wee hours.

If you’re looking for a good party to go to while you’re in Tel Aviv, your best resources will be Facebook, the flyers scattered around the streets, and Time Out Tel Aviv. Alon Rom, a writer for Time Out Tel Aviv, and I stopped at a few clubs while I was in the city, and he gave me some tips about going out in Tel Aviv and told me some more about nightlife in the city in general.
