Jeffree Star Interview Exclusive: Talking Lady Gaga, Halloween, Sex & His "Beauty Killer" Album

Media glamazon Jeffree Star is busy these days. Touring and appearing to promote his debut Beauty Killer album, and just basically continue his flame-haired world domination, he cruised through NYC recently, and we stalked him at his record label's office and chatted him up!

The gender-f**ker pop starlet was as outspoken and fabulous as ever (and really nice, too)! Watch our little video chat above as he dished about his love of rough boys, his Halloween plans (catch him at the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval this Saturday night), his thoughts about what Lady Gaga's got between her legs, and how he uses his media fame for good. For now.

Is Jeffree a drag queen? Is he trans? Just an extra-sparkly boy? We'll let him do the talking, thanks. He's best it at, after all.

Jonny McGovern's Got a New "3-Dollar Bill" Web Video! It's Wrong... But Gay Jesus Likes It!

Jonny_mcgovern
Jonny McGovern: Serving you new, twisted dirty-ish gay stuff.

New York's Jonny McGovern is a busy fella. He's got his weekly Gay Pimp podcast, his cast duties as one of the funny folks on Logo's Big Gay Sketch Show (season 3 coming in early 2010), he performs onstage and still throws some hot downtown NYC parties.

And apparently he still finds time to make a twistedly funny web series "3-Dollar Bill" which spoofs everything righteous in the world today. There's a new episode out now, which mocks frothing, alarmist news shows and the demonization of kids TV characters like Tinky-Wink and SpongeBob. You ready to meet "Double-Dee"???

YouTube - Gay Comedian Jonny McGovern's 3 Dollar Bill-Double Dee on FOREFRONT_1253706191175
America's new probingly pink latex sweetheart, Double-Dee!

What's impressive about this newest clip is there's some series production and animation going on here. Nice work, Jonny! And WARNING: there's some bad language, so it's sort of NSFW. Watch at your own sassy risk! And yes, "Gay Jesus" does make an appearance!

And there are 4 previous "3-Dollar Bill" web videos you can enjoy (if you dare) while you're at it. Mercy, mercy me...

NewNowNext Noise: Video Interview with DJ Saratonin!

-- By Becca Roth

Not so long ago, I met up with Sarah Alexander, better known as DJ Saratonin, on Tuesday at a deli on NYC's Lower East Side, right before her set at the nearby club, The Delancey.

Originally an aspiring party promoter, Saratonin discovered DJing about 10years ago, and has never looked back. She’s based in California, but travels the country to play for mostly lesbian groups, and we were lucky to catch up with her while she was in New York.

You can catch DJ Saratonin on the Sweet Caribbean cruise (November 2009), which provides travel-happy lesbians with back to back entertainment and celebrity guests. You can also catch her at the Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend in March, which is the largest lesbian event in the world. She is also the resident DJ at Truck Stop, which has been featured on Logo’s Gimme Sugar. Also check her out on her MySpace and then befriend/follow her own DJ Saratonin website.

Exclusive Interview: Aimee Allen Talks Music, Survival, and How She Only Has Gay Friends!

--By Cory Stottlemyer

Aimee Allen recently stopped by our offices and I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with her about what's going on in her life. The singer, whose song "On Vacation" has been gaining popularity on VH1, opened up about how she has only gay friends, her brother's coming out, and how all the gay men in her life lament her shoe choices (I thought her Converse were cute! Even I know how painful it is to wear heels in New York!).

The spunky artist even told us about the time last summer when she was assaulted by a gang and left for dead. She's a fighter, though, and has since bounced back to write a new album, A Little Happiness. In the interview you can see Aimee doing an acoustic performance of "On Vacation," in between interview bits! Then watch the song's music video below!

Aimee's on tour all over the U.S. now with Sugar Ray (Yup, they still tour! Who knew?). Check out her tour schedule and join her "On Vacation!"

Singer Holly Miranda Visits Liz Feldman, Lesbian Hijinks Ensue!

More Lesbian Entertainment & Video

I've blogged about the awesome Holly Miranda very briefly before. I sort of worship this amazing up-and-coming Brooklyn/Tennessee-based singer/songwriter... And you will too. Kanye West even reveres her, which means lots.

Holly's playing a show in NYC this coming weekend; teaming up with another killer out singer, Joan As Police Woman, for a hot gig at the 92nd Street Y - Tribeca on Saturday, January 25th. If you're in NYC, go. You won't be sorry.

And above, watch the hilarious queer comic and AfterEllen vlog-host Liz Feldman in her final "This Just Out" vlog of the season, in which Holly visits. First, Liz's mom appears, and Liz's usual guest Raimie, but about 20 minutes into it comes Holly with a searing live performance and a fun chat with Liz. Hurrah!

Trust. The future is all about Holly Miranda. Get ready!

Travel Video: Palm Springs Vs. Mike Diamond. It's On!

You may have seen the delirious and snarky Mike Diamond on Logo (or LogoOnline) interviewing dog and breeders on the PopLab music video show, or terrorizing the red carpet at the NewNowNext Awards or the GLAAD Awards. He's your basic mad queen with a microphone asking celebs (or celeb wannabes) tacky, random questions and usually being way more funny than the people he's quizzing. And of that, we approve!

But Mike likes to travel, too. So watch the video above to see what happens when he visits a surreal place like Palm Springs. Between the seniors crammed on a tram tour, the gay bears sloshing down happy hour martinis, the 80-year-old chorus girls rocking the follies, and the nude twinks splashing around the gay resorts, Mike's got his hands full!

Get more Mike at MikeDiamondOnline; get more dishy travel stuff at TripOutGayTravel.com.

Chris Garneau Interviewed & Acoustic: Talking Fireflies & "El Radio"

Singer & songwriter Chris Garneau sat down recently with us to talk about his new album, "El Radio," a followup to 2007's "Music for Tourists." To record his latest, the NYC-based singer traveled with his friends and bandmates to New Hampshire, and the result is a beautiful mixture of poignant lyrics and fanciful, exquisitely melodic music.

Garneau's new tunes veer from whimsical to melancholy, and "El Radio" marks a departure from being more introspective to covering a wider array of topics. As his label puts it: "Garneau's extensive cast of characters unavoidably comment on the social and political forces that pull us unpredictably through time while rollicking to the rhythms of an organ grinder."

We tracked down Garneau at the Soho apartment of a friend; you'll note the car horns of afternoon traffic on Lafayette street outside. But what you'll love is watching Garneau at a grand piano, doing what he does best.

In the video interview above, Garneau (looking very handsome, by the way) explains everything from the title of his new album, the female influences of his grandmother and the women of Juarez, Mexico, and his decision to shift the focus off of himself for this album. Be sure to also check out his performances here of two songs of the new LP: "Fireflies" (at the end of the interview above, the music begins around 8:40) comes first, then watch and hear the completely gorgeous "Hands on the Radio," below.

Video: A Visit to Butt Magazine's Big BANG Party in NYC!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

A few weeks ago, everyone's favorite artsy/risque gay mag BUTT Magazine threw a big party here in NYC, hosting a slate of some of the most raucously cool up-and-coming bands, including Hunx and his Punx, Salem, and the rappin' freshness that is Sissy Nobby and Big Freedia.

We went to the sweaty, sexy, trashy BUTT BANG affair and we took a camera along to record some of the madness. Have a look! And you'll hear from BUTT Mag's own Michael Bullock and Adam Baran -- and the performers -- about why BUTT is something you can never get enough of!

Awwww, you gotta love sexy/dirty/cool NYC.

An Interview & Performance Peek from Kind Monitor's Joshua Guthals

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

--by Becca Roth

Four months ago, on a crowded subway, Aja Spears and Joshua Guthals first met. She was batting her eyelashes, minding her own business, when a tall, dark and handsome man bumped into her with his guitar case. He apologized profusely and told her she was very beautiful. They began spending lots of time together, and four months later wound up with a residency at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn, singing beautiful duets to intellectual indie audiences every Thursday in July. Perfect fairy tale? Except that Joshua’s gay. (Or maybe that’s even more perfect?)

Joshua (seen above! watch!) is the frontman for the up-and-coming Brooklyn-based band Kind Monitor (or perhaps he himself is Kind Monitor; the world may never know). I was fortunate enough to catch the first installment of “The Aja and Joshua Show” last Thursday at Pete’s, where Joshua and his impossibly stunning subway-riding friend Aja enchantingly harmonize acoustic originals as well as covers. Not only is the duo very nice to look at, but their unique sound, mixed with the cool red atmosphere of the intimate but not stuffy space that is Pete’s Candy Store, is something definitely worth checking out.

Why should you know all this? The pair will perform four more weekly (free!) shows at Pete’s Candy Store in Williamsburg at 9 PM. The show is under an hour (it’s a school night) and every week is a different set, so keep on comin’ back!

More Kind Monitor show info, and the "Cairo" video, after the jump!

Simon Doonan on How to Travel Fabulously - "Beautiful Moments" Vlog, Episode 7

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Oh, dear. Please don't be upset, but this is the final episode of our "Beautiful Moments" vlogs with style guru Simon Doonan. This week, since we're about to say "Bon voyage," Simon pops by to lend some advice about "How to Travel Beautifully."

On "Beautiful People," the madcap Logo series based on Simon's life growing up in dreary suburban England (where he dreams of dashing off to live glamorously in London), Simon's always hankering to escape his hum-drum life. But in reality, Simon reveals he's something of a homebody these days! (Gasp, indeed.)

Still, he's happy to give props to killer vacation spots like the Grand Canyon, tres gay Brighton, England... AND, he tells you how to pack for stylish travel. Less is more, kittens!

Au bientot!

Singer Chris Pureka Talks Music, Helps Lesbians Hook Up

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

--by Kelsey Lisette

Singer-songwriter Chris Pureka recently brought the newest tunes from her EP Chimera to Joe’s Pub in NYC, showing her new material with a riveting live performance. She also demonstrated her gift for philanthropy, as her show easily (perhaps unwittingly) facilitated getting half of downtown Manhattan’s lesbian population laid. With a combination of sultry southern sounds and cabaret style lighting multiplied by a full house of ladies, I doubt I’m the only one who didn’t ride the F train home alone that night.

Pureka’s new album sounds familiarly devastating and folksy, but in that sexy way. It makes you sad, but not like full-blown "wearing sweatpants eating reduced-fat Breyer’s from the tub" sad. Her music occupies that sweet spot where maybe you’re drunk alone at home, but hey -- at least you put eyeliner on.

The two-headed Chimera EP cover; and a nice shot of one-headed Chris. Photo by Shayne Berry.

Chimera makes moping around love-lorn sound pretty hot in the way we’ve come to expect from the soft-spoken Pureka. She's equal parts adorable queer farm boi, whiskey-voiced faux-country crooner and New Englander in sheep’s clothing. It’s like she’s a chimera or something- I mean, we know what that is... We went to college too. Whatever.

Simon Doonan's Gay Wedding Advice: "Beautiful Moments" Vlog, Episode 6

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

June is wedding season! And gay marriage (heard of it?) is all the rage, whether we're fighting for it, just trying to land a spouse, or planning our own ceremony in Provincetown, Manchester or Des Moines. But how do you strike the right balance of tender sentiment and balls-out fabulousness?

Never fear. Style maven Simon Doonan has some advice for you. The spry design guru, whose teen years inspired his book Beautiful People (which, in turn, inspired the new series on Logo) has some handy wedding tips. And he knows! He wed his hubby, designer Jonathan Adler, last fall in San Francisco, California. The New York Times even covered it!

One gem of a wedding tip: "Keep it small... But alert the media!" says Simon. We gays must make our presence known. Useful info, given it's Pride season, too.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you do want to buy a copy of Simon's "Beautiful People" book and then get it signed (as we discuss in the vlog), email me at John.Polly@logostaff.com. We'll figure something out!

Top 10 Modern Musicals Gays May Not Know But Should

Weretheworldmine1
WERE THE WORLD MINE: Like "High School Musical" meets "Dead Poets Society" - but gayer!

By Jaeson Kim

These musicals didn't start on Broadway or even Off-Broadway. These musical movies are in a league of their own. If you've played your Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Weber, and Rodgers and Hammerstein albums to death, check out some of these modern works for a fresh take on a very gay-friendly genre.

Delovely

10. De-Lovely - This biographical musical based on the life of gay composer and songwriter Cole Porter features some notable actors and musicians including Kevin Kline, Ashley Judd, Alanis Morissette, Robbie Williams, and Sheryl Crow. Full of emotional conflicts and tragic events, the musical still manages to offer something lively and with a level of sophistication that's unique to the genre.

And yes, there's a discussion of cameltoe, jumpsuits, and the ultimate importance of not giving a flying-frak about your parents' approval.

Bob Mould is a rock 'n roll legend. Head honcho of Husker Du and Sugar, and a scorchingly good solo artist, he's also sort of the gay godfather of punk. Or maybe I'll think of him as the Gandalf of punk, queer artists (if punk queer artists were hobbits, that is). Whatevs.

Bob's got a new album which is a kickass blend of acoustic-tainted and guitar-driven rock that's by turns slamming and punky, or tender and melodically sweet. Gutsy, smart music has always been his forte, and he delivers brilliantly with Life and Times, out next Tuesday (April 7th).

Bob's touring right now (he's in Philly, Charlottesville, Alexandria and NYC in the next week!) so go see him.

And please watch the interview above, where he talks about his music, but also his first rock concert, his first kiss (!), how life in D.C. has changed post-Obama, and about his blue cheese meatloaf. (But argh... He won't give us the recipe. Not fair!!!!)

Bob also discusses his new gay-punk-rock tune "Argos" written about Amsterdam's legendarily sleazy gay leather bar of the same name. I've been. It's serious.

If you're not the talky type, just skip forward to the 14:45 mark of the interview and hear a live acoustic version of "I'm Sorry, Baby, But You Can't Stand in My Light Anymore" from the new album. It's wrenching and lovely! Just like Bob.

Video: The RuPaul's Drag Race Finale Party!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

If you couldn't cram in to NYC's Therapy bar on Monday night for the big RuPaul's Drag Race finale party (and for all I know you were there, it was so damned packed) have a look at the lil' video above to get a sense of the vibe.

The crowd was rabid and the evening's hostesses, the estimable Eve Starr and the thrillingly hilarious Mimi Imfurst, were pretty damned fantastic. And they had the big winner Bebe Zahara Benet on hand, serving her with her big fat Absolut prize money check at show's end. (Actually, Absolut's Jeffrey Moran did the official hand-off.)

Gorgeous bad girl Rebecca Glasscock was in the house, too. Both Drag Racers performed for the crowd, and all around it was mayhem and bliss.

Gay Leprechauns, Kelly Clarkson & Shamrock Shakes! It's "Sounds Like a Hit" Vlog

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

AfterElton's current "Sounds Like a Hit" vlog is the perfect antidote to any green-beer hangover you might be experiencing (I know that wouldn't come til later, but who cares...). Kyle and Brian are adorable as they don lots o'green and dish and kvetch about gay Irishmen, hot rugby players, McDonalds' rare-as-a-four-leaf-clover Shamrock Shakes, Clay Aiken, Rosie O'Donnell and Kelly Clarkson's latest album.

And doesn't Brian (in the upper left corner) look he's wearing a gay-leprechaun version of Aretha Franklin's hat?

The rainbow ends here, kids!

Best Supporting Vlog's Big Oscar Finale! With Dogs! Trophies! Tears!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

And the Oscar goes to... Liz Dahmen and John Polly! (As if.)

After months of anticipation, Oscar Math, investigative reporting, Tony-winning guests, recipes and costumes, Oscar night arrived and Liz and John dressed up to vlog about it!

Then what happened? Dustin Lance Black and Sean Penn won for Milk! Kate Winslet won -- and gushed. Little slum children triumphed! And the commericals made Liz cry (Damn those True North nut ads!)

Plus, gays were kissing, Hugh Jackman danced and sang (a lot), and Miley Cyrus zoomed in from a prom in Vegas!

540x400_ThisHasBeen

Thanks for watching us this awards season. Or as our Japanese filmmaking friend said onstage Sunday night: "Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto!"

And we hope to be back with another vlog series soon. Anything you wanna see us babble on madly about?

Oscar Special! Best Supporting Vlog with MILK's Denis O'Hare!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Oscar weekend is upon us! And for today's Best Supporting Vlog, somehow Liz Dahmen and I have been graced by a visit from one of the stars of 8-times-nominated MILK! Tony Winner Denis O'Hare stops in for a chat!

350x520_Milkposter08
DenisHeadshot UncleVanyaNew

Right now Denis is onstage in NYC in Uncle Vanya, with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard and Mamie Gummer. In MILK, Denis played nasty anti-gay State Senator John Briggs, and he rocked! But you also saw this out actor play a evil doctor opposite Angelina Jolie in Changeling, and a nice doctor in Babymama with Tina Fey.

You've also seen Denis in Garden State, Michael Clayton, A Mighty Heart, and (one of my faves) The Anniversary Party. Denis also snagged a Tony Award for his amazing turn in the gay baseball drama, Take Me Out. And he also starred in Sweet Charity and Assassins. And coming soon, you'll see Denis in Duplicity with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen, and The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bulock. Busy!

Today, Denis talks about making MILK, hanging with Angelina & Brad, and he offers his Oscar picks, including a rundown of some of the films up for the Best Animated Short Film prize! Yes, we get specific like that.

Nick on the cover of HX in January 09; and in his skivvies.

Guys and Dolls is in previews on Broadway right now (opening March 1st) and among its big, ballsy cast is hot out actor/dancer Nick Adams. You've seen Nick on the cover of HX and Instinct, in other B'way shows like A Chorus Line (where he allegedly made Mario Lopez jealous of his muscles), and in 2Xist undies ads.

That's all we needed to know for a reason to chat him up! Watch the video interview as Nick talks about the new show, undressing with Mario Lopez, backstage "showmances" and why he's single.

Warning: You'll hear me ask brilliantly probing questions like "So is it weird being an underwear model?" Lord help us all. Thanks, Nick!

Amy Ray & Jennifer O'Connor Interview - NewNowNext NOISE

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Indigo Girl Amy Ray and singer/songwriter Jennifer O'Connor are both amazing artists -- and they both happen to be "out." They toured around the US this past fall and winter, doing many shows together, and some apart. Along the way, we snagged them for a quick interview, letting these two authentic, talented, integrity-driven performers talk about making music, addressing queerness in their work, and surviving life on the road. Watch the results, above! (And pay no mind to that weird hole in the wall...)

Amy's just wrapped up a bunch of shows with the Indigo Girls, but Jen's still on the road. Catch one of her amazing shows! And catch videos from both of them after the jump!

Best Supporting Vlog, Episode 6: Extra-Mysterious Edition!

500x350_BSVMystery2

Why the film noir look? This week's Best Supporting Vlog is all about "Mystery!!!" as Liz and John try and decipher what the Academy president Sid Ganis meant when he said the Oscars would be "truly different" this year. Ganis told the folks at the annual Oscar Luncheon that this year's show would be a shocker, and implied that they'd better expect big suprises and weirdness! What the heck was he talking about?

Thus our crafty little disguises... Plus we discuss this past week's Oscar luncheon (What's the diff between lunch and "luncheon" anyway? Fancy hats?), what Hugh Jackman might do onstage and other weirdness! WATCH BELOW!!!

The Super Bowl Vs. The Oscars: Best Supporting Vlog, Episode 5

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Face it, Sports Fans! The Super Bowl is kicking The Oscars' ass!!! Meaning, how come the Super Bowl gets all the good (bad) food -- chili! wings! beer! -- and the good commericals, and the ridiculous half-time show mania!???

These are the questions plaguing Liz Dahmen and John Polly this week in their Best Supporting Vlog! Industrious Liz gets her football shoulderpads on to figure what the froofy gay Oscars can learn from all the guy-powered Super Bowl sound and fury.

For starters... Beer Cozies! T-Shirts!

Best Supporting Vlog, Ep 4: Oscar Noms, Breasty-Americans & Gay Penguins!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Last night saw the Screen Actors Guild Awards doled out (Congrats to pants-wearing Meryl, the Slumdog cast and big props to Sean Penn), but this past Thursday saw the Oscar nominations announced! And MILK nabbed 8 or 9 biggies, but that's no big shocker. The people who were really surprised were Marisa Tomei, the dead dad from Six Feet Under, and all the people who worked on Revolutionary Road (ouch!).

Liz Dahmen and I offer our assessment of the whole affair, and we share insights on nominated films that you didn't even know were gay. Plus, surprise "queer" nominees!!! (Hint: He ripped Leo & Kate new ones!)

Plus, how to stress your 501's so as to accentuate your hot package, how Oprah got dissed by a bunch of uppity nuns, and how some gay penguins waddled in to this year's Oscar race.

420x200_DowneyPenguinsTomei
Diversity, homo penguins & strippers! F*ck yeah, it's Oscar-time!

Also, why the Best Supporting Actress nominees are so damn diverse -- and bouncy!

What did YOU think of the Oscar noms? Did you burst your Benjamin Buttons? Or did your Milk go sour?

"Best Supporting Vlog" Whips Out Its Golden Globes

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Is Kate Winslet still delivering her acceptance speech? Is Mickey Rourke still thanking his dogs? And where were all the gays?

In our new episode of the movie-awards obsessing Best Supporting Vlog, Liz Dahmen and John Polly pick the most homo-tastic moments of the Golden Globes. Liz puts on her "lesbinoculars" to seek out the show dykes, and John arduously whips up a countdown of the Top Ten Gay Moments of the GGs.

Expect nods to Neil Patrick Harris (barely), Danny Boyle's "mad pulsating affection", Glenn Close's quasi-lesbi-tastic pantsuit, Heath's win, and a surprise appearance from Wilson Cruz. Plus, something the lesbians and gays can agree on: Colin Farrell's hotness!

P.S.  Click through if you want the recipes for our Penelope Crustini and our Curious Casserole of Benjamin Button! They were in last week's post. And for the recipe for the chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips, you'll have to wait til next week. Bon app!

"The Reel World" Vlog: Recapping The Real World Brooklyn!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

The Real World: Brooklyn has only shown its first episode and already it's catching on like crazy. The jam-packed daily clips posted on RealWorldDailies.com of all the housemates discussing penis-size, anal sex, gay bars, etc (and those are just straight-Mormon Chet's topics of expertise) are mind-boggling.

So how could we not wanna create our own weekly recap vlog series? Thus comes "The Reel World" in which queer New Yorkers Carly and Richie will examine, critique, analyze and extract meaning from the weekly antics of Katelynn, JD, Devin, Scott, Ryan, Baya and Sarah. And yes, Chet. Oh, that Chet...

Tonight brings episode 2 (MTV, 10pm), so get primed now! And you can also get coverage on MTV's TV-obsessed blog, Remote Control.

"What a Drag!" Vlog: Makeup 101

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

"Cover Girl does NOT cover man..." Oh, such pearls of wisdom! There's more where that came from.

To satisfy the inner drag queen yearning to bust free in all of us, here's a new regular vlog hosted by two of L.A.'s loveliest dragsters, Megan Brooks and PhoenixWhat a Drag! (based on the gals' site/series on their Life's a Drag site) is gonna teach you all you need to know about being a top-notch "lady." These Georgia-born peaches know their stuff, so watch and learn. Lesson #1: Makeup. Cake it on, please!

Has all the world gone draggy all of a sudden? Maybe. Why not? Blame National Drag History Month or blame the foxy approach of RuPaul's Drag Race coming to Logo. Or maybe some folks are just taking the ever-present mantra of "change" to a new level...

Best Supporting Vlog, Episode 2: Howard Bragman Talks Oscar. Plus, Recipes!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

For their second installment of the Oscar-obsessed Best Supporting Vlog, Liz Dahmen and John Polly have snagged a guest. Howard Bragman is a big gay mega-important Hollywood publicist. Perhaps you’ve seen him on CNN or Fox News or just about every other news show, weighing on showbiz/gay/PR issues.

Howard’s no stranger to the Oscars either, so he dishes about how important PR is to snagging a trophy at the Kodak Theater. And he’s got a book out entitled Where’s My Fifteen Minutes: Get Your Company, Your Cause, or Yourself the Recognition You Deserve. (Whew!)

Bragmanbookcover

So somehow, we roped him into visiting us and sharing his insight on how the Oscars are doled out, what makes for a good Oscar party, when/if an out gay actor will ever win one, and why Angelina Jolie is a freakin’ publicity genius!

And after the jump, we've got cocktails and some recipes to perk up your Golden Globes this coming Sunday night! Wanna chow down on some Penelope Crustini? (It’s sexy and delicious crostini inspired by nominee Penelope Cruz and her native Spain.) Or how about a Frosty/Nixon cocktail? Hungry for The Curious Casserole of Benjamin Button? Keep reading!

And yes, we also have some Root Vegetables Getting Marinated, in honor of Anne Hathaway. (Get it? Rachel Getting Married?)
