Vigil Being Held At NYC's Stonewall Inn In Memory Of Orlando Massacre Victims

“The LGBT community in NYC stands in solidarity with the communities in Orlando."

People are gathering outside the historic Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village tonight to mourn the deaths of 50 people murdered in a mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando yesterday.

The Manhattan bar, which became a symbol of LGBT rights after the 1969 Stonewall Riots, will host a vigil starting at 6pm.

“The LGBT community in NYC stands in solidarity with the communities in Orlando," management of the Stonewall Inn said in a Facebook post.

"Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and those who had to experience such hateful violence."

Another demonstration is being held Monday evening at Stonewall, with NYC City Council Member Corey Johnson in attendance.
