Logan Paul has mastered the art of Vine, with his 6-second clips raking in millions of followers (8.2 million, to be exact), and skyrocketing him to Internet stardom. But the 20-year-old, 6’1″ is now setting his sights offline and over to Hollywood.
Tech Insider followed Paul as he carried out his daily Vine-star duties in Los Angeles last month.
The profile is jam-packed with some amazing quips from the hunky Internet wiz, who shows that it’s not always easy to translate online fame to cinematic stardom.
“I want to be the biggest entertainer in the world.” he professes. “That’s my deal. I’ll do whatever it takes to get that. As many hours as is needed.”
On his comedic progression:
The comedy you see me doing is like, the clean stuff. But hey, sorry, I do like the dirty stuff as well. I want to be in R-rated movies. It’s time for me to grow up and expand my brand of comedy because the dirty stuff is the fun stuff. That’s the stuff that gets the college people laughing.
Some of my Vines, the young girls love them. But college students will watch them and be like, yo this is dumb.
So is Paul afraid of getting typecast? “So get this.. as the funny guy, the funny frat bro, any time I try out for that role, I get it. Like, I walk in and they’re like, ’Yeah, you’re it.’ But lately the roles I audition for are a little bit more serious. And I get kind of nervous because I don’t really know how to develop a character.”
While Paul would likely benefit from some acting classes, he’s not afraid of scrutinizing critics. “Here’s the thing about haters: I don’t care.”
Words to live by, Logan.
