Violet Chachki is making herstory as the first drag queen to land a major women's lingerie campaign.

The Season 7 Drag Race winner is the new face of London's Playful Promises and she's serving the Bettie Page-inspired looks that she has become known for.

"Bettie Page has been a big inspiration for my drag character for a long time, so it’s kind of full circle for me," she told Bazaar. "I reference her a lot in my work so it was kind of the perfect pairing for me and a dream job."

But just because she was ready to show off these pin-up style pieces didn't necessarily mean that the lingerie industry was ready to embrace her. So being able to land the campaign as a drag queen is a pretty huge deal.

"It’s so gratifying to be accepted into a world that I never thought a drag queen would be accepted into," she said.

"There’s so many different identities out there and I think they all deserve some visibility," she added. "Showing variety in representation in casting is super important, it gives minorities a platform and I think it definitely creates a safe space for conversation and progress."
