Nikon Taps Viral Instagram Dads Kordale & Kaleb For New Marketing Campaign: WATCH


Kordale and Kaleb Lewis, the Georgia fathers who went viral after posting a shot of their modern family (above) on Instagram last year, are sharing a little more about their life and kids in a new ad for Nikon.

“Parents that can get up at 5:30 and do their daughters’ hair, no matter who they are,” Kordale says, “that’s a family.” While brushing one of his daughters’ hair (the couple has three kids together, two girls and one boy), he goes on to explain how his family was first noticed:

What happened was, we were in the bathroom doing the girls’ hair, and I said ’oh, let me take a picture.’ In the picture, we captioned ’this is us every day getting up at 5:30 in the morning and getting our daughters ready for school.

It was a simple, innocent picture and Kordale was like ’I’m just letting y’all know what I have to deal with.’ And the next thing you know, it went viral and I’m still amazed.

The picture went viral at first for all the wrong reasons, and the couple received disgusting hate mail in the weeks that followed.

“The comments were a trip,” he added. “It didn’t make me feel any way because I know they don’t know what we go through, I know that they don’t know our children, I know that they don’t know our lifestyles. They don’t know how we live. A picture is worth so much more than a thousand words.”
