Glen Beck: "I Have Gay Friends"; Virus Returns In "HIV-Free" Men: Today In Gay

AIDS HIV

In July, researchers at Harvard Medical School made headlines when it looked like two men were effectively "cured" of HIV after undergoing bone-marrow transplants. Sadly, it appears the virus has returned in both patients, who had been able to go off antiretroviral medications for several months.

"We felt it would be scientifically unfair to not let people know how things are going, especially for potential patients," lead researcher Dr. Timothy Henrich told The Boston Globe.

Both men were HIV-positive when they began treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma, but the virus was reduced to undetectable levels after they received their transplants. The fact that the HIV returned suggests the virus is more durable than previously believed.

Blathering on about victimization on the Blaze, the former Fox crybaby said even his own daughter thought he was intolerant until he set her straight:

And I kept saying to her, 'Honey, you don't understand. When it comes to gay marriage, for example — I have gay friends, I have gay employees, I don't really care. What you do is what you do. You work that out, that's your life.'

But I tried to explain to her, what this really is about, is telling my church what I have to believe. If I am tolerant, [I] say, 'you do what you want to do;' I get to do what I do, and you can't force me to say that my God says that you can be married, or not married. You can't force me to do that.

That's so weird—we can't recall anyone telling churches they have to approve of marriage equality.

Beck says that because anti-equality forces are swiftly being turned into an oppressed minority they should be allowed to speak their minds. "There's a tremendous opportunity for Christians," he explains. "Because they lost the war [on marriage]" antigay Christians should be shown more tolerance.  "I'm not trying to shut you up, I'm not trying to do anything to you" he blubbered. "Don't do it to me!"

Multiple sources on Capitol Hill have claimed Forbes is putting pressure on party leaders to turn their backs on promising contenders for the House, like Massachusetts' Richard Tisei and San Diego's Carl DeMaio, because their sexual orientation would apparently put them in league with some radical LGBT agenda.

Some say this effort is just a ruse to get Forbes a sweet gig with the RNC. "Throwing solid conservative contenders under the bus in a cynical and hopeless attempt to gain a Chairmanship is beyond the pale," said Log Cabin Republican director Gregory T. Angelo. "Congressman Forbes would do more to help his image by supporting efforts to grow the Republican House majority rather than undermine it."

In 2012 Jack Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, told partners David Mullins and Charlie Craig that he couldn't sell them a cake because his religion opposed same-sex marriage. The couple filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Division, and this week Judge Robert N. Spencer reaffirmed the CCRD's ruling that Phillips was in the wrong.

Spencer didn't impose any fines, but Masterpiece would face penalties if Phillips continued to deny service to same-sex couples.
