The lads of the University of Warwick Boat Club rose eyebrows (and other body parts) last year when they posed nude for a charity calendar and donated a portion of proceeds to Ben Cohen’s StandUp Foundation, which battles homophobic bullying in sports.
Now PinkNews reports the men are doing the gays another good turn by opening the LGBT Health and Wellbeing Centre, a first-of-its-kind clinic in Birmingham that will”address the problems of health inequalities that LGBT people face.”
Dave Viney, Centre Manager said: “We are thrilled to be launching the UKs first dedicated fitness space with the Warwick Rowers. It’s great to see homophobia in sport and homophobic bullying creatively challenged by a predominantly heterosexual sports team.”
Alas, we have a feeling the guys might keep their kit on for this one. We’ll there’s always the 2014 calendar to look forward to!
