Since the beginning of their careers, media outlets and their fans have been pitting pop superstars Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears against each other. Well now, Aguilera says she’s finally open to a collaboration.
While speaking to Jimmy Kimmel on his show Wednesday (Sept. 12) about celebrities using social media to tell their own stories, the “Ain’t No Other Man” singer said she would have used the social networks to squash those Britney/Christina rumors years ago.
“Back in the day whenever people were comparing me to other artists, I would have just loved to squash it before having an interview,” Aguilera said.
The 37-year-old performer then went on the say if social media was around back then, she and the “Slave 4 U” singer may have already done a song together. When Kimmel told her it’s not too late, resulting in the crowd expressing their approval through applause, Aguilera said: “If her reps say okay…I’m down.”
Aguilera is set to hit the road to support her latest album Liberation, her first tour in over a decade. The show kicks off Sept. 25 in Hollywood, Florida.
