Watch: Disney Shares Teaser for "The Lion King" Remake

The live action hits theaters July 19, 2019.

In case you were actually spending time with your loved ones on Thanksgiving and not refreshing your social media feeds, Disney dropped the first trailer for the much-anticipated remake of The Lion King.

In the trailer, we are re-introduced to Simba's birthplace, Pride Rock, as the classic "Circle of Life" plays in the background.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the full cast of the remake of the 1994 film includes Beyoncé as Nala, Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones, reprising his role as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, and Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner as Pumbaa and Timon.

Favreau’s remake of The Jungle Book in 2016 won an Oscar for its visual effects and brought in close to $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

The soundtrack of the 1994 film, helmed by Tim Rice and Elton John, sold over 10 million copies, won both composers an Oscar for "Can You Feel The Love Tonight."Beyoncé is reportedly working with John on new versions of the classic songs for the forthcoming remake.
