Watch: “McCanick” Trailer, Cory Monteith’s Final Film

I’m not even a regular Glee watcher, and I still feel like I knew Cory Monteith. It’s heartbreaking to see footage of the guileless young star, who died July 13 of a drug overdose in Vancouver, even in a gritty movie trailer like McCanick. The violent thriller premieres at the Toronto Film Festival next month (along with another unreleased Monteith project, All The Wrong Reasons), and in the film, Monteith plays “a Simon Weeks, a drug addicted criminal whose release from prison triggers paranoia and violence in narcotics detective Eugene “Mack” McCanick (David Morse), who has a secret from his past that only Weeks can expose.” Yikes.

The movie costars Ciaran Hinds, Mike Vogel, Rachel Nichols, Trevor Morgan, and Aaron Yoo, who I loooooved in Disturbia.
