In this age of American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and overnight YouTube superstardom, do people still just move to L.A. via a Greyhound bus and pound the pavement in hopes of becoming a star? Burlesque sure hopes they do, cuz baby -- that's what they're selling!

Watch the trailer for the big Cher/Christina Aguilera film. It's got the hand flips, bowler hats and seedy nightclub vibe of Bob Fosse's Cabaret shaken and stirred with equal parts Showgirls, Chicago and The Devil Wears Prada (Cher is Meryl, Xtina is Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci is -- appropriately enough -- Stanley Tucci). There are some glitzy glam pleasures here, but as sassily as this trailer is snipped together, it seems like both Cher and Xtina are just somehow going through the motions. Basically, it's very "WE'VE SEEN THIS ALL BEFORE! Start lining up, gays."

Mind you, I still loooooove this kind of stuff. Rags to riches, showbiz rise and fall, old legend schools young newbie... And even in a dumb bowler, the presence of Cam Gigandet makes my dance belt tingle.
