See The Trailer For The 'Angels In America' Revival Opening In NYC Tonight

Slow Dancing In America

Signature Theater’s hotly anticipated revival of ‘Angels In America’ finally officially opens in New York tonight. But Hark! Tickets are going pretty fast so you better snag one quick if you haven’t yet.

This revival is the first time ‘Angels’ has been staged in NYC after it closed on Broadway in 1994. The staging is a lot more intimate than the original, but from the trailer below at least it looks like all the emotional punches are still pretty much in tact.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people in my generation are more familiar with the HBO miniseries than the original Broadway production. It will be interesting to see how the play speaks to today’s audiences/political climate in different ways than the early ’90s.

I’m excited to weigh in on this question and offer some other thoughts on the show in general after I see as much as it as possible THROUGH MY TEAR DRENCHED FACE.

Oh! In other gay theater news, did you hear that Kiera Knightly and Elisabeth Moss are starring in a West End production of ‘The Children’s Hour’ this spring? Dying.
