We Regret to Inform You That Trump Has New Pride Merch

Trump’s latest queer sartorial venture is even bolder than his last.

Just in time for the holidays, you can have Pride and wear your white supremacy, too. If you thought Donald Trump’s Pride month T-shirt was a one-off, you’d be sadly mistaken.

In case you missed it, the Trump campaign brought us this gem in June. It was a t-shirt that bafflingly read “LGBTQ for Trump” (we’re still on the hunt for the person who bought that shirt.)

In addition to being grammatically incorrect and seemingly designed by your Uncle Barney on his 1998 Apple iMac, the shirt was at odds with every policy move made by Trump with regards to LGBTQ people. Less than two hours after taking office, Trump wiped all mentions of LGBTQ people from the White House webpage. He went on to ban trans people from the military and systematically dismantle LGBTQ health care protections.

Unsurprisingly, media outlets were less than charmed by the rainbow Trump shirt, first reported by NewNowNext.

However, Trump’s latest queer sartorial venture is even bolder than his last. This one is a MAGA rainbow shirt. Quite simply, it reads “Make America Great Again” in rainbow-hued letters. Again, it seems the campaign skimped on hiring an actual graphic designer, or possibly farmed the task out to 13-year-old Barron Trump.

Now, you can show your love for the LGBTQ community by proudly displaying a slogan that has become synonymous with white nationalism. If that does not warm your holiday heart, what will?

“Show your support for the LGBT community and the 45th President with this exclusive Make America Great Again Pride T-Shirt,” a description reads.

It’s unclear when these shirts cropped up for sale. The last rounds of tees went onto the market last October but only started making the rounds on social media in June. Those are no longer listed on the Trump campaign website. Incidentally, you can buy “Latinos for Trump” shirts, “WOMEN for Trump 2020” tees, and of course, a shirt that portrays House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff as a pencil-neck bozo.

Unfortunately—unlike his Pride T-shirts in June—the MAGA Pride t-shirts are not on sale and will cost you the full price of $25, plus $7.08 in shipping. Of course, they are made in the U.S. (They’re buried in the last tab of the merch pages on the campaign site, by the way).

This time around, the campaign did manage to harangue two actual humans into modeling the shirts. That’s right, you can buy these in men’s and women’s sizes. That means the whole family can enjoy! (And yes, we excluded mention of trans people on purpose because well, it’s Trump, after all.)
