Week in Gleek: Returning To The "Glee" Set, Adam Lambert's Role, More
Glee Cast Returns To Set
Although the Glee landscape has been bleak in recent weeks, the show must go on, and the cast and crew are back to work filming Season Five. "Feels so good to be home... #GleeSeason5," Lea Michele tweeted, attaching the first picture from the set—Rachel sitting on the edge of her bed looking forlorn. (Could she be in mourning?) Other cast members tweeted less spoilery pictures from the set , including Darren Criss' snapshot of what appears to be a math classroom and creator Brad Falchuck's picture of the choir room. The Gleeks will film three episodes—two Beatles tributes and a farewell memorial episode for Cory Montieth and his character Finn—before taking a hiatus.
Lea Michele Returns To The Studio
Monday saw Lea Michele's return to the studio for her first song of Season 5, and first recording session since boyfriend Cory Monteith passed away last month. "Couldn't have picked a more beautiful & perfect song to start the year with," Michele tweeted. It's unclear if her first recordings were for the Beatles tribute episode or the upcoming goodbye to Finn/Monteith, but we suspect it was a very emotional time for the actress.
As if we didn't have enough to say about Kurt Hummel's alter ego, Chris Colfer has readied his second children's book, The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns. He's celebrating with a book tour that included a brief midnight reading in New York City for die-hard fans.
Glee Will Likely Not Return After Season Six
Say it ain't so?! The bigwigs at Fox are predicting that Glee won't go beyond it's current order through Season 6: "I would not anticipate it going beyond two more seasons,” said Fox president Kevin Reilly. "Look, never say never, but there's two very clear arcs to get to the end and conclude.”
We imagine those arcs belong to Rachel Berry and Kurt Hummel, two main character who've already left the halls of McKinley for the Big Apple. And at least one cast member thinks the cutoff is logical. While on his press tour , Chris Colfer asked “Where would you go after a sixth season, you know? I think six is a really good number and think it’s a good amount of time to spend with these characters.”
We hate to be selfish, Chris, but we want more Kurt Hummel in our lives.
More Details About Adam Lambert's Glee Role
We've been aflutter with anticipation about what role Lambert will play on the show this season, and now Chris Colfer has given a hint: "Apparently Adam Lambert is joining the show and he’s gonna play my nemesis," Colfer said on Live with Kelly and Michael this week. (Damn, Colfer's spilling the T all over the place.)
What could cause such a rift? Are Lambert and Colfer's characters vying for the same role? Or the same man? With such possibilities we have to call this a genius move on Glee's part.
