State Rep. Brian Sims on Thursday sent out invitations to a fund-raiser next week for the "Brian Sims Exploratory Committee." OMG, ME! ME! ME! PLEASE!

Oh wait, it's for the "Brian Sims for Congress Exploratory Committee."

How the outrage over the Pope's Kim Davis meeting may have paid off in a big way

Los Angeles LGBT Center to honor Jane Fonda and out Philadelphia screenwriter Ron Nyswaner.

"Fonda became a friend and ally to the LGBT community at a time when celebrities advocating for LGBT rights was almost unthinkable. She campaigned with Harvey Milk against California’s anti-LGBT Briggs Initiative, fought Anita Bryant – the notorious activist who demonized LGBT with a campaign to repeal an anti-discrimination ordinance in Florida – and has been a lifelong supporter of the LGBT community and champion for human rights."

Well-Strung releases their album POPssical today, and here's their take on "The Devil Went To Georgia" with a little Johann Sebastian Bach.

Matt Baume takes on that Rinse & Repeat game I posted about last week.

CBS has renewed Zoo for a second season. At least that means more James Wolk. I think. Unless he was eaten by a lion. I stopped watching after a few episodes.

Here's the official trailer for Spectre

Here's Episode Six of Season Four of Where The Bears Are. "When the Bears show up on the set of a TV game show where Dickie’s boyfriend Matt works to question him about why he didn’t attend Dickie’s funeral, the producer winds up recruiting them as contestants when the team going up against the returning champions suddenly drops out."

Here's the Friday Puzzler! "Sitting On The Cock Of The Bae"

And here's The Weekly ShoutOUT™. Each week we're going to focus on one out athlete/performer and feature a daily pic and career timeline. We'll be showcasing the big names, but also the lesser-known gay and bisexual celebs who deserve more recognition. This week we give a ShoutOUT™ to ... Peter Allen

Even though Peter passed away in 1992, his legend lives on. In 2004 Hugh Jackman won the Tony Award for The Boy From Oz.

And just last month the mini-series Not The Boy Next Door aired on Australian TV, with Joel Jackson as Peter.

Thanks to immoralq for the Peter Allen suggestion. If you have a suggestion for a future shoutout, drop me a line at therealsnicks@yahoo.com

Three years ago I presented my personal favorite Briefs list, The 100 Greatest Lost Hits of The 80's, and because if there's one thing Hollywood has taught us, it's that sequels and reboots and remakes are ALWAYS better then the original, we're going to the well again with The 100 Greatest Lost Hits of The 80's Part 2: The Even More Forgotten

We'll be spotlighting 100 more of the greatest minor hits of the decade, the songs you don’t hear on any 80’s nostalgia show. Songs that missed the top ten, or top twenty … or top forty. Hopefully these forgotten gems may ring a long dormant bell, or for younger readers, provide a pop music history lesson.

At #96 is "Catch Me I'm Falling" by Real Life

Aussie band Real Life are best known for their classic "Send Me An Angel" (which was a hit twice, in 1984 and 1989), but their sadly neglected follow-up (and only other chart entry) is just as catchy. "Catch Me I'm Falling" peaked at #40 in May 1984.
