“RuPaul’s Drag Race” Royalty Invite You to “Werq the World: Pride Castle”

Proceeds and tips from the show will benefit the National Black Justice Coalition.

Since most of us have been self-isolating at home for months now a castle sleepover sounds like a nice change of scenery.

For the highly anticipated third installment of the Werq the World livestreams, America’s reigning drag superstar, Jaida Essence Hall, is teaming up with RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11 winner Yvie Oddly, for Werq the World: Pride Castle. Trans activist and actress Candis Cayne takes over hosting duties from Lady Bunny and Bianca Del Rio, as she leads viewers on a virtual tour of Pride Castle, visiting rooms where different Drag Race queens reside.

The queens who will be performing in Pride Castle are Heidi N. Closet, Raja, Naomi Smalls, Kim Chi, Plastique, along with Yvie and Jaida. In addition to solo lip syncs, the event will conclude in the castle courtyard where the queens will perform together for a live legendary ball.

“This will be a unique experience as the queens have not performed together since the start of the pandemic in March,” says producer Brandon Voss. “And this will be Jaida’s first live performance since winning Drag Race so who knows what surprises she’ll have in store!”

As if that wasn’t enough of a selling point, the Pride Castle coin is also going to a good cause. Net proceeds from Werq the World: Pride Castle ticket sales and 100% of viewer tips and donations will be donated to the National Black Justice Coalition, an organization dedicated to empowering the Black LGBT+ community.

Werq the World: Pride Castle streams live June 27 at 8pm EDT. For tickets and more info head over to the Voss Events website.

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
