Westboro Remixes Lorde's "Royals", Ruins Pop Music For Everyone
You gotta hand it to the Westboro Baptist Church -- they're really finding new and innovative ways to remind you how awful they are. Because planning to boycott Lorde's Kansas City show wasn't enough, the scions of nearly-dead heretic (we guess...) Fred Phelps ran some scales -- only to immediately trip and fall over them -- for a sanctimonious cover of the New Zealand wunderkind's epic hit.
Here's a sampling of the lyrics:
'Cause every song sings bare teeth ragin; sinning in the bedroom
bloodless coffin trashin your creator
You don't care
You're really badasses in your dreams
But in reality Christ will pay back, coming in the clouds
He'll set his thrown and mockers will be screechin' 'It ain't fair'
We'll be caught up with him in the air
We'll ever be royals, sanctified by his blood
Catchy tune, but fire and brimstone never did make for a good club banger.
