Girls and Glee colliding? We can think of nothing better!
Recently on Twitter, Girls star Lena Dunham and Glee star Lea Michele struck up an adorable digital friendship fawning over each other, and now we can’t help but hope for some character crossover.
With Rachel Berry headed to NYC, who who better than Hannah Horvath to introduce her to the post-choir-room real world of the city? We’ve got three roles (complete with requisite song and dance moment) we think would be perfect for Lena’s Hannah on Glee.
Rachel’s Roommate: Lea told reporters at Fox’s TCA party that we’ll hear Rachel’s roommate having loud sex during the first episode, but won’t see her. Wouldn’t Lena be great? Maybe we can even get Adam Driver to play her boyfriend in a true Girls bizarro world! Song For Lena: “Young, Wild & Free,” by Bruno Mars (and Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dog, but probably just the Bruno Mars parts…)
A Writer Covering Rachel’s First Show: Maybe Hannah gets a gig blogging about local cultural events and gets assigned the big NYADA fall showcase. Imagine how delicious her reaction to overachiever Berry would be, and then Rachel’s determination to squash the offending posts with some “Love Me!” cookies. Song For Lena: “Some Nights,” by fun. (Hannah is questioning what she stands for, as a blogger about college performances.)
A Party Buddy: Eventually someone has to get Rachel Berry out of her shell and over to Bushwick for some artist parties. Hannah will, of course, be there, and the two bond over being hit on by the same boy, not really liking the liquor selection, and how all the rest of their friends ditched them. Song For Lena: “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” (as a drunken duet, natch.)
Any other great ideas for Lena on Glee? Tell us in the comments.
