Why You Need To Watch "Smash" Again

"I feel like there’s still a whole level of the show that people haven’t seen yet."

While it’s been more than two years since the final episode of Smash , it’s a show that's clearly not vanished into memory.

In fact, the staging of the Bombshell musical with most of the original cast was a hot ticket this summer in New York City.

“I miss it” says Joshua Safran, the show's openly gay executive director and the creator of ABC's Quantico.

“There is so much in it that, if you actually go back and look at it, really surprisingly rewards repeat viewings in a way that most shows don’t. I feel like there’s still a whole level of the show that people haven’t seen yet."

Like the awesomeness of Anjelica Huston's Eileen Rand, perhaps?

Or the goofy sexiness of Christian Borle?

Safran says he's asked about the series regularly.

"People come up to me in the street and they say, ‘Oh, my god, I watched it again recently and I saw all this stuff.'"

"I’m excited that it still goes on—that it’s still living somewhere,” he added.

How about it living in a reunion movie or an actual Broadway run for Bombshell?
