Here's When the "Will & Grace" Series Finale Will Air

Get ready to say goodbye to the fab foursome—for a second time.

Pour yourself a martini and clear your calendars for Thursday, April 23, because that's when the (second) series finale of Will & Grace will air on NBC.

Leading into the final episode, NBC will air a retrospective looking back at the groundbreaking sitcom. The special, hosted by star Eric McCormack, will show iconic clips from the show along with "emotionally-charged reactions from Will & Grace superfans and celebrities who will share stories about what the show has meant to them." Elton John and Norman Lear will also make special appearances during the retrospective.

Here is the official episode description for the finale, "It's Time":

With the apartment packed up, Will (Eric McCormack) is determined to not reminisce about his life in the city or his ex, McCoy (guest star Matt Bomer). Grace (Debra Messing), on the verge of giving birth, keeps having false alarms of going into labor. At the behest of Stan, Karen (Megan Mullally) goes to the top of the Statue of Liberty to get closure with her ex-husband. Jack’s (Sean Hayes) dream of taking a bow on a Broadway stage becomes a very real possibility. Minnie Driver and Brian Jordan Alvarez guest star.

“When NBC had the opportunity to reconnect this amazing cast and creative team, we jumped at the chance. The impact and legacy of Will and Grace simply can’t be overstated, both as a true game-changer in the portrayal of the LGBTQ community and as one of the finest comedies in television history,” said NBC Entertainment co-chairmen George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy.

Will & Grace originally premiered in 1998 and ran for eight seasons. The Will & Grace team returned in 2017 for a 10-episode revival of the Emmy-winning series. Its return was met with critical and fan raves, so the revival was eventually renewed for an additional two seasons.

“We think of the Will and Grace reboot episodes the way Karen Walker thinks of martinis—51 is not enough, 53 is too many. That is why, after consulting with the cast, we all have decided this will be the final season of Will and Grace,” creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan said last year in a joint statement with director Jimmy Burrows. "They say you can’t go home again, but we did. And now, three seasons and 52 episodes later, we’re even more proud of something we never thought we’d get a chance to do again. We have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience twice. And for that, we owe a double debt of gratitude to NBC, this show’s supportive and caring home since day one.”

We've said goodbye to the fab foursome before, so who knows if this is really the end or just "see ya until the next revival."

The Will & Grace retrospective will air Thursday, April 23 at 8:30pm ET, with the finale following at 9pm.
