Will Horton Is Alive And Back In Bed With Sonny On "Days Of Our Lives"

Chandler Massey has returned to play the gay teen fan favorite.

The last time Days of Our Lives fans saw Will Horton he had been strangled to death.

But something like murder has never stopped soaps from bringing characters back from the dead, and now, two years later Will is about to stir up the drama when he returns to Salem.

In this week's episode entitled "Double Wedding," Will's former husband Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) is about to marry Paul (Christopher Sean), when the wedding is interrupted with the news of Will's return.

"When we learned that Chandler was interested in returning to acting, we felt it was a sign,” co-executive producer Greg Meng told the New York Post.

Massey won three consecutive Daytime Emmys for playing Will, and was a part of television history when he portrayed him during the series’ first kiss between two men in 2012. Massey left the series in 2014 and Guy Wilson took over the role. Later that year Will made history again when he married Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) in daytime TV’s first same-sex wedding between two men.

Viewers recently got their first glimpse of Will's return when he appeared in a hallucination to his alcoholic father, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo).

In an episode that aired on September 22, Will appeared to Sonny in a dream on the eve of his wedding, asking him if Sonny loved him why he was marrying someone else.

In an interview with the Post, Massey kept tight-lipped on how Will would come back after being strangled to death, but he reminded fans that "Will certainly wouldn’t be the first person to come back from the dead. They have a medically plausible explanation."

Everyone is excited for him to be back, especially Massey, who knows how much Will means to Days of Our Lives fans.

"I was definitely very nervous knowing I would be coming back," Massey told Social News XYZ. "I want to be careful to continue Will's journey and do it justice."
