Willam Drops New Album "Shartistry In Motion," Talks Her Most NSFW Video Yet
RuPaul's Drag Race fan favorite Willam dropped a brand new album, Shartistry In Motion, less than a week ago and it's already sitting at the top of the iTunes comedy chart.
The singing comedy queen was the first and only queen to be disqualified from Drag Race back in season 4 but she's gone on to be the most commercially successful by far. Several of her parody singles including Boy Is A Bottom, Blurred Bynes, and American Apparel Ad Girls, have broken onto Billboard's Top 10 comedy chart and her Twitter feed, a treasure chest of dick jokes and NSFW humor, is the second most-followed account in Drag Race history.
Shartistry In Motion is Willam's second full-length album and it's available right now on iTunes for $7.92 — the cost of "a back alley bj from Willam." It boasts 8 new songs all written and produced by Willam herself, including four duets with Drag Race alum Alaska Thunderfuck, Courtney Act, and Latrice Royale, as well as Los Angeles drag staple Rhea Litre.
In an interview with Billboard, Willam revealed she won't be doing much promo for the album but she will be doing some… uh… newsworthy videos coming up.
"My next video is pretty crazy," she said. "I don't think anybody can beat me on that, though. I'm doing a cover of [Britney Spears'] I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman while I [redacted] somebody. I filmed it in San Francisco like two weeks ago. It's so cool. I'm so proud of it."
Billboard responded, "Ohh…kay! Like, actual [redacted] or is this just like sort of comedic ha-ha 'we're cutting away…'?"
"No. I'm [redacted]," said Willam. "It was on stage and I told someone, 'I will perform for free at your afterparty, if you let me [redacted] somebody.' And they're like, 'Yeah! Sure! We'll just say it's simulated!' And I was like…"
