This year, the New York Times Travel Show has announced plans to add an official pavilion exclusively featuring events and exhibitors catering to the LGBT community.

LGBT travelers who visit the pavilion can expect to interact with representatives from the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) and Passport magazine. They will also find exhibitors on hand that specifically cater to the LGBT community, including: Out In The Vineyard, an experiential Wine Country event and travel company; Insider Voyages, a company that creates authentic travel experiences for LGBT travelers; Outings & Adventures, that offers LGBT cruises; Quiiky, an Italian inbound LGBT tour company; Oscar Wilde Tours, a company that offers LGBT-related arts and literary tours; R Family Vacations, which provides LGBT vacations on mainstream cruise charters; and the Stonewall National Monument, the first U.S. National Monument dedicated to LGBT rights and history presented by National Parks Conservation Association.

The pavilion will also play host to an hour-long Facebook Live event where interested globetrotters can seek advice from a panel of LGBT travel experts.

"I'm really happy that LGBTQ travel show attendees know they have a place at the show that warmly welcomes them and provides opportunities and experiences taking into account their specific needs and concerns," says Ed Salvato, author and Chief Content Officer of ManAboutWorld.

"A man may ask whether and he and his husband will truly be welcome at a resort. A solo transgender traveler may want to know if she'll be safe on a tour that assigns double accommodations according to gender. A woman and her wife may look for an exotic wedding destination where they can be safely and legally married."

The three-day event, which takes place from January 26–28, 2018, is the largest and longest-running consumer and trade travel show in North America and is held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
