"X-Men Days Of Future Past" Gets New Trailer, Shirtless Hugh Jackman Pics

X-Men: Days of Future Past got a new trailer this morning, with double the Magneto and double the Professor X.

Director Bryan Singer hopped on Twitter to discuss the preview and the upcoming film. "Although there is a great deal of humor [in Days of Future Past]," he explained, "the overall tone is a bit darker than previous films, particularly because of the stakes."

Singer explained that while there will be plenty of CGI magic in the film, hitting theaters May 23, 2014, but that the trailer is "character driven," because the effects are still being worked on. He also teased that, like X-Men: First Class' decidedly 1960s vibe, Days of Future Past will embrace a 1970s look and feel. (Scenes have been shot in 16 and 8mm.)

Though he's definitely putting his fingerprint on the new X-flick, Singer was quick to praise the actors, who come from both the original X-Men trilogy and X-Men: First Class, declaring "they were all fantastic and made the experience fun," but admitting that the large cast was "slightly intimidating."

Also in X-Men news, Empire magazine released several new stills from DOFP, including one of a shirtless Wolverine healing from what appear to be some serious bullet wounds.

Eh, we still totally would.
