"X-Men: First Class" Star Caleb Landry Jones Joining Roland Emmerich's Stonewall Movie

He's the second actor attached to the project after Jeremy Irvine (War Horsesigned on earlier this spring.

Jones, 24, will play Orphan Annie, an eccentric hustler who bonds with Danny (Irvine), a naive young gay man who experiences a political awakening at the Stonewall riots.

In April Emmerich posted about Stonewall on Facebook:

I’ve had so much fun sharing my life with you through pictures and events these past six months. I wanted you to be the first to know that I will begin shooting “STONEWALL” this Spring.

For those of you who aren’t aware, the legendary Stonewall Inn is the birthplace of the modern Gay Rights movement. I plan to keep you updated along the way with casting information and lots of pictures and behind-the-scenes videos.

The openly gay director best known for action flicks like Independence Day and White House Down, Emmerich is directing a script penned by Other Desert Cities playwright Jon Robin Baitz.
