Yet Another Republican Presidential Hopeful Is Going To A Gay Wedding

A politician's views on marriage equality has been a litmus test for some time, but now politicians are being quizzed on whether they've actually been, or would go to a gay person's wedding.

It's the new "Did you inhale?"

Following the lead of Marco Rubio and Scott Walker, who actually went to a lesbian cousin's wedding last summer, Ohio Governor John Kasich acknowledged that he is going to a gay friend's wedding later this year.

"I went home and I said to my wife, 'my friend's getting married. What do you think? You wanna go?'" Kasich told CNN. "She goes, 'Oh, I'm absolutely going.' I called him today and said, 'Hey, just let me know what time it is,'"

The Republican governor of Ohio, Kasich says his longtime friend knows his stance on the issue of marriage, "but I'm not here to have a war with him. I care about my friend, and so it's pretty simple for me."

You care about your friend enough to celebrate his love—just not enough to give him his rights? Does this make sense to anyone?

While Kasich hasn’t officially declared his candidacy, he's been campaigning in early primary states like South Carolina and New Hampshire, and says it feels like God is calling on him to run for president.

He'll need the Lord's help—right now only about 2% of Republicans say they'd vote for him.
