Need to calm down after elbowing your way through a crowd of MacHeads for that new iPhone this morning? Check out the Scissor Sister’s new album, Night Work. It’s streaming on Myspace for the rest of the day and tomorrow. Most of the song’s seem to be taking a cue from the Mapplethorpe cover art and living in a gloriously produced ’80s world of dance heaven unlike their folksy cover of All The Lovers. The album officially comes out on June 29th.
I loved Scissor Sisters debut album more than probably 35% of the people in my life/pets I’ve owned, but Ta Dah wasn’t my favorite. From a quick listen I definitely think Night Work lives up to that first album. I’m loving Whole New Way and Harder You Get. Thoughts?
Also, can we just cast Jake Shears as Ren in the new cursed Footloose remake? Problem solved, Hollywood.
