"Younger" Returns, "Shadowhunters" Arrives, "Degrassi" Moves To Netflix: TV THIS WEEK

Plus TBS rolls out "Angie Tribeca" with a 25-hour marathon, and "Colony" infests USA.

As we get further in the new year, there's even more new shows to take note of: This week's highlights include anniversary celebration for MadTV, a time jump for Pretty Little Liars and the return of TV Land's Younger.

The new season of Hit the Floor doesn't arrives until January 18, but Monday at 9pm you can get ready for the return of the soapy basketball drama when VH1 airs Hit the Floor: Instant Replay.

The one-hour special counts down the show's ten most shocking moments—at least one of which will probably be devoted to closeted player Zero—and offers a sneak peek at the upcoming third season.

Want more Hit the Floor? Tune in this weekend for a marathon of Season One and Two, starting Saturday at noon.

On Tuesday at 8pm, Freeform (formerly ABC Family) brings back Pretty Little Liars with a new episode set five years in the future. Now that the mystery of "A" is long-solved, count on new secrets to force the quartet to work togetheragain.

Following the Pretty Little Liars premiere, Freeform debuts its newest thriller, Shadowhunters, Tuesday at 9pm. Based on the Mortal Instruments books, the series follows a young woman who learns she is a human-angel hybrid destined to battle demons who threaten the Earth.

Her fellow Shadowhunters includes bisexual warlock Magnus (Glee's Harry Shum) and closeted Alec (Matthew Daddario).

Tuesday also sees The CW reunite the cast of MadTV for a 20th anniversary special that includes memorable sketches and new material.

MadTV had a number of great gay moments, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed they aged well. The reunion airs at 8pm.

It's only been a few weeks since Face Off crowned a winner and the reality competition series is already returning for another go on Wednesday at 9pm.

Last season the show was revamped to include new challenges that, instead of introducing crazy twists, found new ways to bring out the artists' talents.

Also on Wednesday, Younger returns to TV Land. The sophomore comedy stars Sutton Foster as a divorced woman who lies about her age to help her make a fresh start at work and in her personal life.

And if Foster isn't enough reason for you to tune in, Younger's cast is jam-packed with breakout stars like Nico Tortorella, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar and Miriam Shor.

Younger's second season begin with an hour-long double feature starting at 10pm.

Thursday at 10pm, USA hopes it can get sci-fi fans to tune in for Colony, which stars Lost hunk Josh Holloway and The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies as parents trying to keep their family together in a post-alien-invasion L.A.

Bates Motel and The Strain producer Carlton Cuse is helming, so there's reason to hope that Colony will remember that LGBT people exist, even in sci-fi stories.

On Friday Degrassi: Next Class makes its debut on Netflix, and shifts focus onto the younger characters from last season—including gay student Tristan and sexually fluid Miles.

As the series starts, Miles and Tristan haven't quite figured out how to be friends after their breakup, and find themselves competing for class president.

TBS tries something different with the cop comedy Angie Tribeca: It's airing the entire 10-episode first season over 25 hours, starting Sunday at 9pm.

In the show, a parody of police procedurals and their tendency to take everything so seriously, Rashida Jones plays a lone-wolf detective in the division that tackles only the most heinous crimes in L.A.

That's this week's TV highlights. Which shows are you most excited to see?
