Your Complete Guide To This Year's NewNowNext Awards "Brink of Fame: Actor" Nominees

Liam Hemsworth is hot and nominated.

It’s that time of the year again. The 3rd Annual NewNowNext Awards are coming in June, and it’s time to fulfill your civic duty and VOTE to select your favorite up and coming stars. I’m not saying it’s more important than the census, except that yes, actually I am.

This year, there are 6 dreamboats of talent nominated for “Brink of Fame: Actor” that anyone would kill to take a 4 day/3 night Caribbean cruise of star power on. Unfortunately, however, there can only be one winner. Let's review all your options, so you can make a responsible choice.

Morena Baccarin ("V", ABC)

Do you like your award winners Brazilian and spicy? Then Morena Baccarin may be the choice for you. Super Geeks may remember her as the classy, space hooker Inara Serra from the television series, Firefly. Average geeks may remember her as Anna the leader of the Visitors in V. Fun Fact: Morena understudied Natalie Portman during a Central Park production of The Seagull.

More rising stars after the jump...

Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song)

Have you uploaded 2-3 parody music videos of “Party in the USA” to Youtube? Then you probably already know who Liam Hemsworth is! He co-starred with Miley Cyrus in that Nicholas Sparks devil movie, The Last Song. He’s also well known in Australia for appearing in the soap, Neighbours. Fun Fact: His brother, Chris Hemsworth is also an actor, and is starring in the upcoming Thor film.

Mark Indelicato (“Ugly Betty”, ABC)

Ever since Mark Indelicato tapped danced into America’s heart in that little sailor costume on Ugly Betty, we’ve known him as Justin Suarez, Betty’s fabulous younger nephew. Now that Ugly Betty is cancelled, Indelicato is moving on with the equally fabulous role as an intern at Teen Vogue. What’s next for Indelicato? If you think it's something great, vote for him. Fun Fact: Mark once appeared on an episode of Chapelle’s Show.

Lea Michele ("Glee", FOX)

Broadway fans have long been aware of Lea Michele’s talents as she appeared in such productions as “Spring Awakening” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” Over the last year, however, her fame has grown considerably through her portrayal of Rachel Berry on Glee. Is her star destined to shoot higher? You decide. Fun Fact: Lea Michele was “Little Girl” in the Original Broadway Production of Ragtime.

Alexander Skarsgård ("True Blood", HBO)

Avid readers of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, could have never expected the role of True Blood's Eric Northman to be played by such a Swedish hunk of man butter. We, I mean they, have been entranced by this tall, dangerous vampire ever since. Also, he was in Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” music video. And because we know you like this sort of thing, here's a GIF of Skarsgard showering. Thanks for leaving Sweden, Alexander. Fun Fact: Alexander used to be an anti-terrorist marine in Sweden. Seriously.

Paul Wesley ("The Vampire Diaries", CW)

Hold up! There’s another potential steamy vampire to choose from for all you fangbangers out there. Paul Wesley can currently be seen in The Vampire Diaries on the CW as well as possibly Mt. Olympus because he has the bone structure of a god. Fun Fact: Paul Wesley’s original last name was “Wasilewski.”
