YouTuber Logan Paul Under Fire After Saying He’ll “Go Gay” for a Month

“That’s not how it works," GLAAD replied.

Logan Paul, an actor and popular Internet personality, is facing backlash for insensitive comments he made this week during an episode of his podcast, Impaulsive.

The 23-year-old social media sensation upset some listeners while discussing New Year’s resolutions with cohost Mike Majlak, joking about trends like "sober vegan January" and "fatal February," referring to a return to drinking and meat-eating.

“It’s male-only March,” Paul continued, laughing. “We’re going to attempt to go gay for just one month.”

“Logan Paul joking about being gay 'for one month' while countless LGBT+ around the world are killed & committing suicide for their sexuality, is disgusting," tweeted social media personality Daniel Preda.

"Being gay isn’t a choice, being gay isn’t a phase, being gay shouldn’t be used for a trend and subscribers," added Disney Channel star Skai Jackson. "Grow up Logan Paul."

Even GLAAD responded: “That’s not how it works."

Paul replied to GLAAD's tweet Friday, writing, “very poor choice of words... my fault. let’s get together and talk about it on my podcast next week?”

Paul previously incited outrage last year when he posted a YouTube vlog showing the body of an alleged suicide victim in Japan. Paul deleted the video, apologized, and later created a video dedicated to suicide education and prevention.

“I know I’ve made mistakes, I know I’ve let people down," he said in the clip. "But what happens when you’re given an opportunity to help make a difference in the world? It’s time to learn from the past as I get better and grow as a human being."

“I know for a fact everything I do from this point on will get criticism, it will get backlash, because I’m a very polarizing dude,” he said in a later vlog. “You either love me, or you hate me... I’m not going anywhere.”
