If I wasn’t a Ke$ha fan before, I certainly am now. Her new single “Die Young,” while not exactly hailed as original by our music columnist Mark Blankenship, is mostly definitely within the YOLOsphere. In fact, it joins One Direction’s “Live While We’re Young” in a battle of YOLO Supreme that it most certainly wins. Why? First of all, it was manufactured for your eardrums and brainwaves. Dr. Luke (He’s a DOCTOR), Benny Blanco (See: “California Girls”) and Nate Ruess from Fun. (Yes, that Fun.) wrote it.
It’s a Dream Team of musical manipulation, and you know exactly how you can tell its greatness? Search for “Die Young” on YouTube. There are already a plethora of covers–from acoustic manipulation, to a mash-ups to a capella versions. When a song immediately inspires reinterpretation, you know it’s bound for #1.
Prove it? Okay, here are my favorites.
What happens when you combine the two most currently YOLO songs? A gorgeous acoustic mash-up, is what.

Dubstep is hot, you say? Just because “Die Young” didn’t come with the dubstep we’ve come to expect, doesn’t mean a talented YouTuber can’t add his own WUB WUB WUB flavor (and rhymes).
