Yung Miami of City Girls Thinks Saying She’d Beat Her Son if He’s Gay Isn’t Homophobic

But it's okay cause her stylist is gay.

Yung Miami of City Girls has doubled down on her homophobia, claiming saying she would beat her son if he showed any signs of being gay is not a statement against the LGBTQ community.

The rapper came under fire for a resurfaced tweet, written back in 2013, before she reached stardom, in part thanks to featuring on the Drake hit "In My Feelings," where she said she would abuse her child if she didn't approve of his sexual orientation.

Miami apologized in August in a note posted to Instagram, where she also apologized for saying Haitians were "black ugly and cheesy."

But in an appearance on the radio show The Breakfast Club, she stepped in it yet again, clearly not understanding that she still harbors bigotry despite her disturbing worldview.

"I just said that if I saw anything gay in my son that I would beat him," she said, awkwardly seated right in front of an LGBTQ Pride flag. "But that's just like, your momma be like, 'If you break my table, I'm gonna beat the shit outta you.' That don't mean she's gonna beat the shit outta you, she's just sayin'. I don't have nothing against gay people, but I wouldn't want my son to be gay."

"Just being a mother, I wouldn't want my son dating the same sex, but I'm around gay people all the time," she continued. "My stylist is gay, my cousin gay, I love gay people. My favorite cousin that died was gay. That don't mean that I have nothing against gay people 'cause I don't want my son to be gay."

When host DJ Envy rightly pointed out what she said "made it seem like there was something wrong" with being gay, she shrugged it off.

"I mean, I apologized for it. I don't know why they took it offensive," she said.

Nothing says legitimate apology like following it up with claiming you don't understand why you needed to issue said apology in the first place. Hold for apology 2.0.
