Zoe Saldana Speaks Out In Support Of Dolce & Gabbana: "Why Are We Making A Big Deal About It?"

Actress Zoe Saldana spoke out at the GLAAD Media Awards red carpet over the weekend voicing her support for designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in opposition of the inferno of celebrities jumping aboard the #BoycottDolceGabbana campaign.

Asked if it will affect her decision to wear the label, Saldana told E! News, "No! Not at all, that would be the stupidest thing if it affected my fashion choice."

She continued on:

People are allowed to their own opinion, however, I wouldn't have chosen to be so public about something that's such a personal thing. I’m certainly not going to stop wearing Dolce, and I'm certainly not going to be refuting when they are adopting synthetic children, however they wanted to say it.

Saldana went as far as to chalk Dolce & Gabbana's staggeringly ignorant remarks up to an issue of translation.

I do think things are lost in translation… My husband (Marco Perego) is from Italy and if I judged him based on the words that he misuses in our English language he wouldn't be here today.

It's like ‘Look people, have a drink, relax, it's okay.’

Obviously it caused some sensitivity, but then again if you continue to follow the news, you see they all kinda hugged it out, so why are we making a big deal about it?

According to The Wrap, Saldana was heard shouting “Wear Dolce!” to photographers on the GLAAD red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

While we love Saldana in classics such as Crossroads and Center Stage, we're going to need to remind her that Stefano Gabbana calling Elton John an unintelligent, ignorant, fascist is, in no translation of terms, a "hugging it out" turn of phrase.

Check out a snippet of some of Saldana's choice remarks.
