When Zooey Deschanel’s hit sitcom New Girl finally returns in November, there will be a new character joining the gang it appears — a lesbian character.
Zooey’s character Jess will introduce the guys to her sapphic friend Sadie, “an OB/GYN by day and a skilled archery player by night.” This should be interesting.
Sadie will be played by the hysterical June Diane Raphael who some may remember from her work in the Drew Barrymore rom com Going the Distance or her hysterical guest spot on the short lived but critically loved Party Down. Raphael also wrote the screenplay for Bride Wars with close pal and Happy Endings actress Casey Wilson.

In her first episode, Sadie will give Nick (Jake M. Johnson) some painkillers that may or may not be used to treat menstrual cramps. Hilarity no doubt ensues.
So hurry up and be over playoff baseball, we want to see this.
