Zoos and Aquariums Offering Live Cams and Events to Entertain and Relax You

Just because you're stuck at home doesn't mean you can't enjoy the magnificence of nature.

As we previously reported, museums are offering up free virtual tours you can take advantage of while doing your civic duty of staying the hell home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Well, they aren't the only ones providing entertainment during this difficult time. Zoos and aquariums are also here for you, with virtual tours and live cams to bring some wildlife into your world.

Zoos

Zoo Atlanta

Zoo Atlanta has a panda cam where you can watch the giant pandas eat, play, and chill.

Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo holds a Home Safari event at 3pm EST every day on its Facebook page.

Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo also allows you to explore its grounds virtually, with six different cameras, all of which run from 7am-7pm CST: The Giraffe Cam, Gorilla Habitat Cam, Elephant Yard Cam, Leafcutter Ant Cam, Rhino Yard Cam, and Chimp Window Cam.

The Facebook page is also being regularly updated with videos.

Philadelphia Zoo

The Philadelphia Zoo has also launched a Facebook Live series, called Philly Zoo at 2, which airs at 2pm ET every weekday on its page.

San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo offers 11 cams: The Baboon Cam, Penguin Cam, Polar Cam, Ape Cam, Koala Cam, Giraffe Cam, Burrowing Owl Cams, Elephant Cam, Tiger Cam, Condor Cam, and the pre-recorded archival Panda Cam.

The zoo also goes live on Facebook from time to time.

Smithsonian's National Zoo

The Smithsonian's National Zoo has four cams you can view on its website: The Naked Mole-rat Cam, Lion Cam, Giant Panda Cam, and Elephant Cam.

The Facebook page is also being updated with adorable videos like the one below of a sloth eating kale.

Aquariums

Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium has eight cams to soothe your soul and keep you entertained: A Jellyfish Cam, Piranha Cam, Sea Otter Cam, Penguin Cam, Sea Lion Cam, Ocean Voyager Cam, Indo-Pacific Barrier Reef Cam, and Beluga Whale Cam.

The aquarium also broadcasts its cams on Facebook at times.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has 10 live cams to explore: The Aviary Cam, Coral Reef Cam, Jelly Cam, Kelp Forest Cam, Monterey Bay Cam, Moon Jelly Cam, Open Sea Cam, Penguin Cam, Sea Otter Cam, and Shark Cam.

National Aquarium

The National Aquarium, which is in Baltimore, offers a virtual tour on its website.

Additionally, The National Aquarium's Facebook page is also full of videos worth exploring.
