This "Thank U, Next" Lyric Mix-Up Had Some Fans Thinking Ariana Grande Came Out as Bisexual

Aubrey, who?!

Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" is the latest bop to break the Internet, but the pop diva's newest single didn't come without a little confusion. A tiny error on Apple Music's lyric page made some fans think the track was Grande's way of coming out as bisexual.

According to Elite Daily, the mishap began when the track dropped on the streaming service around 11:30pm this past Saturday night. While the actual lyrics in question are, "But this one 'gon last / 'Cause her name is Ari"—as in Grande calling for self-love by referring to herself in the third person—Apple Music reported the lyrics as, "But this one 'gon last / 'Cause her name is Aubrey."

Aubrey, whomst?!

Twitter had the same question, with queer users losing their cool while they frantically Googled who Aubrey could be (and promptly found out that the telling line was actually just a mix-up on Apple Music's part.)

Once the confusion had cleared, others took to Twitter to liken the situation to Lorde's "Liability," in which the singer pulled a similar move and used female pronouns to sing about herself in the third-person.

One hilarious Twitter user took the golden opportunity to promote a worthwhile cause: showing up to the polls for Election Day 2018.

Grande herself even tweeted at Apple Music to issue the correction...and at Spotify to thank the streaming service for getting her lyrics right on the first try. #SHADE

We know the track wasn't actually a hint at Grande's bisexuality, but might we suggest she link up with fellow pop icon Carly Rae Jepsen? At the very least, the pair could celebrate their single-ness together (and perhaps co-write the breakup anthem to end all breakup anthems.)
