"Drag Race" Alum Venus D'Lite Hangs Up Madonna Obsession On "My Strange Addiction"

Venus D'Lite from RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3 appeared on TLC's My Strange Addiction last night, when she went through a dramatic process of self-discovery that led her to renounce all things Madonna.

As you may recall, Venus entered RPDR as a bona fide Madonna impersonator—though some of her competitors thought that limited her range and, indeed, Venus ended up sending her home first.

In interviews as her male alter-ego Adam Guerra, Venus reveals she's been booking gigs as the Queen of Pop for more than a decade. Along the way, Guerra's fascination with the Material Girl turned into an addiction and he began living as Madonna full-time. In episode, Guerra explains how he spent more than $175,000 on plastic surgery and clothes to emulate his idol.

The most heartbreaking moment of the episode comes when Guerra arrives at the realization that he is not actually Madonna—he rips off his wig as the first step toward breaking his immaculate addiction completely.

In the clip below, he repeats affirmations in the mirror—in the style of Madge's video for "Hung Up"— before ripping off his wig and collapsing into his coach's arms.

A final slide reads: "After his breakdown, Adam decided to go back to being himself fulltime. He's sold his collection of Madonna outfits and moved in with his boyfriend."
