Is #WakeUpCall The New Ice Bucket Challenge?

There's a new awareness campaign burning up social media, but you won't have to pour a bucket of ice on your head to join. In fact you don't even have to get out of bed.

The #WakeUpCall campaign asks participants to post photos of themselves just waking up, and was launched by UNICEF to help their efforts in Syria. But it's not just about awareness: Participants are also asked to text "SYRIA" to 70007 to donate £5 (about $8). Celebrities like Tom Hiddleston, Naomi Campbell, Bear Girlls and Liam Neeson are among the thousands taking part.

Will it supplant the Ice Bucket Challenge as the charitable selfie of 2014? We'll have to wait and see.

Below, check out some of the stars participating in the #WakeUpCall campaign.
