Riverdale, the dark and dramatic version of Archie comics premieres tonight on The CW and all of your favorite characters such as Betty, Veronica, Jughead and Cheryl Blossom are featured in the new series—including Riverdale High's out gay student, Kevin Keller.

In The CW series, Kevin is played by newcomer Casey Cott. In a video introducing viewers to the character, Cott explains that Kevin "is one of the only characters who is constantly saying the truth" on Riverdale. He's also central to the show's mystery when he discovers a dead body in the show's pilot.

Back in 2010 Kevin Keller became Archie Comics' latest breakout star when his arrival in Veronica issue #202 became the only Archie comic in the company's history to sell out. Since then he has gone on to headline his own mini-series and is currently starring in his own digital title, Life With Kevin, which explores Kevin's post-Riverdale life as a journalist in New York.
