Meet The Red-Hot Actor Playing A Bisexual Ass-Kicking Mutant In "Deadpool 2"
There's a queer mutant in Deadpool 2 and, no we don't mean Wade Wilson: U.K. Actor Lewis Tan will be playing bisexual X-Force member Shatterstar in the sequel, premiering May 18.
The full cast of the highly anticipated sequel was being kept under wraps, but Tan recently posted a shot from the film, and hinting at his appearance. "The gang is all here. Recognize someone? #xforce #deadpool2"
In the photo, a character is somewhat obscured behind Bedlam (Terry Crews) and Domino (Zazie Beetz), but his costume is pretty close to Shatterstar's X-Force uniform.
Tan is best known for playing Gaius Chou on AMC's Into The Badlands He's also appeared on Netflix's Iron Fist as Zhou Cheng. He was in contention for the lead, but lost out to Finn Jones.
In the Marvel comics universe, Shatterstar is a genetically engineered, dimension-jumping mutant most recently paired with another male X-Man, Rictor.
It's not clear whether Star's sexuality will make it into the film, but it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility: The trailer shows Deadpool grabbing Colossus's steel-hard-buns.
