Oh Happy Day: Whoopi Goldberg Says She Wouldn't Say No To "Sister Act 3"

Bless us, oh Lord, for this gift which we may receive.

It's been a painful 22 years since Whoopi Goldberg last stepped into the habit of Las Vegas performer, Deloris Van Cartier, turned nun, Sister Mary Clarence, in Sister Act and its arguably more iconic sequel Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.

When asked about the possibility of a Sister Act 3 during a 2013 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Whoopi gave a straight-shooting N-O, citing the passing of so many of her nun co-stars as the reason, saying that "it's not Sister Act without them."

However last night, during yet another appearance on WWHL, the Whoopster seemed to have changed her tune.

Asked by a caller if we'd be getting another sequel, Whoopi beamed as the live studio audience immediately burst into the necessary applause that should ensue at the mere mention of the film.

"I generally say no to that," Whoopi began, emphasis on the generally, "because so many of the nuns have passed and it just wouldn't feel right for me. But I do think that someone is planning to do Sister Act again."

Someone ain't Whoopi and we, the people, want our Whoopi.

"I'm kind of old for it now," Whoopi wrongly stated. "That's not to say I wouldn't do it, but it feels like there's a new generation for Sister Act and so maybe I can be a nun now."

Somebody call Kathy Najimy, Maggie Smith, Lauryn Hill, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Jennifer Love Hewitt and let them know, we back!
