The queens of RuPaul's Drag Race pop up where you least expect them: D.J. Pierce, a.k.a. breakout RPDR star Shangela, is slated to appear in the February 1 episode of The X-Files.

The beloved sci-fi series recently returned to the small screen as a miniseries more than 13 years after Fox originally cancelled it.

Pierce calls it an "honor" to appear on the iconic show.

"I remember watching the show as a teenager. I never imagined I’d one day be working on it," . "It was fun playing Annabelle. I think writers are taking more chances with characters on TV, and that means more opportunities for diverse actors. To that I say 'Halleloo!'"

Details on the episode, titled "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster," are slim, but according to the Fox description:

When a dead body is found in the woods, Mulder and Scully are called in to investigate whether it was an animal attack, a serial killer or just maybe a strange creature as described by eyewitnesses.

Meanwhile, Mulder is able to confront some of his own demons about feeling disillusioned with his life's work.

According to Wikipedia Tyler Labine and Nicole Parker-Smith reprise their roles as stoner characters introduced in previous seasons.
