"The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived" Gives Gay Kids A Fairy-Tale Ending

The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived, a new children's book by Daniel Errico, has grownups all atwitter: It's hero, poor-but-honest pumpkin farmer Cedric, stops a thief and beats a fire-breathing dragon—but opts to wed the handsome prince, and not the fair princess.

According to press notes, the book "sets out to prove that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is choose for yourself how your fairy tale ends."

"The story is meant to be a new take on the old-fashioned fairy tale," Errico, who is straight, told HuffPo this week. "I believe that all forms of love and marriage should be framed in a positive way for children because they are positive things. Hopefully, the choice of marrying a prince over a princess will be less noteworthy for a hero like Cedric in the future."
