Take the Subway to The Planet With New "L Word" NYC Metrocards

Transfer here for the "Generation Q" train!

New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) might have a timeliness problem on its hands, but the group definitely has the whole "pander to the gays during Pride Month" thing down pat.

Just in time for WorldPride 2019, the MTA has revealed a limited edition run of The L Word: Generation Q-themed Metrocards. Now, you can proudly flaunt your queer status when you swipe into the city's subway system, although we can't promise dyke drama won't ensue.

According to Forbes, the cards are available for purchase as of this Monday, June 24, and feature full-color illustrations from the promo art for The L Word's forthcoming 2019-style revival.

This isn't the MTA's first show of support for NYC's LGBTQ community. In honor of WorldPride 2019 and Stonewall50, the company also unveiled a set of generic Pride-themed Metrocards featuring rainbow patterns. As of June 14, five trains on the city's 1 Line, which runs between the Bronx and southern Manhattan, are also outfitted with rainbow-hued decals on each of their train cars, reports Travel and Leisure.

Don't wait to snatch up your one-way ticket to The Planet, either. Only 50,000 Metrocards are available at select stations in NYC, including Christopher Street, West 4th Street, 23 Street, and more.

As for the reboot itself? Keep your eyes peeled on Showtime, where The L Word: Generation Q is slated to premiere later this year, including writing and cameos from some familiar faces.
